[education]
At The Lift, our goal is to make a difference for everyone who walks through the door. Our culture emits passion, warmth, joy, creativity, art, and vivacious energy. Every day we strive to be the best we can be. We're constantly honing our craft so we can offer a memorable experience that is unique to each person.
Education is important to us at The Lift, as well as quality professional service. We give our clients the education they need to be confident and able to reproduce the looks we have created for them.
Two main sources of education we receive are from Bumble and bumble University and The L'Oréal Professionnel Academy both in New York City.
The University of Bumble offers education on many levels. Bumble has the School of Business that aids salon owners and management in building a strong, sound environment. It also helps salon owners in expanding their businesses.
Then, there's the Design School. At the Design School we master training in chair education, cutting, straight edge razor, and an array of finishing techniques. Finishing techniques range from everyday hair to evening hair to editorial runway hair.
In the spring and winter, Bumble and bumble offers assemblies that are inspirational and motivational that our staff attends. The assemblies represent the latest looks and trends from the streets to the runway.
In our salon, we also have four network educators who have had intense training in communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
We have an assistant program that cultivates a new hairstylist that has just completed her cosmetology program in school. The program helps to develop the stylist professionally and creatively. Weekly the assistant has hands on training on live models. They are constantly practicing and honing their skills to be outstanding stylists. The assistants in our salon are very important. The assistant, receptionist, and stylist work in harmony to make the most memorable experience for our clients.
We recently trained with Frédéric Fekkai and his artistic team at the L'Oréal Soho Academy in New York City. We trained with Fekkai and his team three times this year once in March, once in August, and once in November. The class only held enough room for fifteen stylist and only two stylist could attend from each salon attending. Not only were we able to go to New York but we closed the salon for a day and invited them to come to the salon. The artisic team did one-on-one education with the each of the staff members so now we are fully trained in the Fekkai technique.
At The Lift we are constantly expanding our creativity beyond our daily work in the salon. We work on photo shoots which allow us to engage in editorial work. This is our opportunity to stretch the imagination. We can make big hair bigger and glam hair more glamourous. As a team we work together to come up with settings, looks, feels, and finding the right models. It's such a passion and is so exciting. We showcase our looks in our windows at The Lift and our work will be currently published on the web site.
Be a part of the excitement. Be a part of The Lift - A Salon.
